Denis Oppenheim (1938-2011) was an American conceptual artist and pioneer of land art. His work embraced a wide range of media, including photography, sculpture and performances.
Influenced by minimalism and conceptual art, Oppenheim challenged traditional artistic conventions, exploring topics such as identity, time and space.

He is known for his provocative and experimental works, such as "Reading Position for Second Degree Burn", where he lay on a photo album in the sun to create a burnt pattern on his skin. He also created monumental installations and sculptures, such as "Device to Root Out Evil".

Oppenheim intended to actively engage the viewer, questioning perceptions and the limits of art. His innovative style and conceptual approach left a lasting legacy in contemporary art, constantly challenging the boundaries between reality and representation. His prints reflect his conceptual and experimental approach, exploring similar topics to those in his other works, including identity, time and space.

In his prints, Oppenheim often used unconventional techniques and materials, challenging the traditional limitations of the medium. He experimented with combining different printmaking techniques, such as woodcut, lithography and silkscreen, to create unique and powerful images.

His prints often depict surreal and symbolic images, which encourage reflection and questioning by the viewer. As in his other works, Oppenheim aimed to provoke a visceral and emotional experience in the viewer, challenging conventional perceptions of art and reality.

Although his work in printmaking is perhaps less well known than other aspects of his career, it is still an important part of his artistic legacy, demonstrating his ability to innovate and experiment in different media and techniques.

Made for "Suite Olympic Centennial" and published by Centennial Editorial (Martí March) in Barcelona in 1992. Reference literature: M. Basso and C. Durán-Basté, "Suite Olympic Centennial: 50 Grands Peintres", Lausanne, Musée Olympique, 1994; "Suite Olympic Centennial: obra gráfica contemporánea", Málaga, Provincial Council of Málaga, Culture and Education Area, 1997.
