Eugen Taube (1860-1913), moonlit landscape, oil on canvas, relined, 1888, signed and dated, approx. 35 x 62 cm, with frame approx. 50x75.5cm.

Eugen Taube came from a noble Baltic family and was born in St. Petersburg, he served as an officer and received his artistic training in St. Petersburg. Taube painted almost exclusively landscapes and was close to the Finnish artist Hjalmar Munsterhjelm.
