August Splitgerber (1844-1918), landscape with field path and figures, oil on wood, parquet on the reverse, signed lower left and inscribed "MCH", verso old label with number, approx. 17 x 29.2 cm, with frame approx. 27x39.5cm.

Splitgerber studied at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich and took part in exhibitions in the Munich Glass Palace, Hamburg, Dresden and London, among others. Splitgerber's work was initially influenced by Spitzweg and later by Impressionism.

Condition

Slightly browned, small stains, frame with small signs of wear.
