Description

Klaus Moritz (1930-2016), Sunday in Dublin, oil on canvas, 1975, signed and dated in the lower center, on the reverse of the stretcher with an old label from the Mittelrhein Museum, Koblenz, approx. 100 x 150 cm, with frame approx. 107x158 cm.

EXHIBITION: Mittelrhein-Museum Koblenz, 1982, exhibition 'Klaus Moritz' pictures and drawings.

Moritz studied in Leipzig and Berlin. He was a member of the group "Neue Gruppe Leipzig" together with Werner Tübke, Gisela Moritz and Bernhard Heisig. In 1959 he moved to West Germany. In addition to abstract and figurative representations, Moritz devoted himself to landscape painting in his late work.
