2339003. IGNITION RIFLE, Dörsch & von Baumgarten system, CA Fischer, Lübeck, 1860s.

Description

Spark plug made for hunting, signed CA Fischer Lübeck. Fischer was a butler for the Swedish king Charles XV and mainly active during the 1860s. The mechanism is based on the Dörsch & von Baumgarten spark plug system, which in turn was a further development of Dreyse's famous spark plug system. Dörsch & von Baumgarten's system was manufactured in a very short time and had a very limited distribution. In 1861, the German small kingdom of Schaumburg-Lippe adopted the system militarily and manufactured more than a thousand rifles before the principality of the German Empire. However, this rifle is completely civil in its manufacture and appears to be almost unused.

Mechanically as new, beep in almost new condition.
