Elke Stickling (1944-2019), 'Himmlischer Tumult', 1990, drawing, colored pencil on paper, signed and dated lower right: '90', framed, image dimensions: 78 x 98 cm, frame dimensions: 120 x 140 cm.

Born in Bielefeld in 1944, Elke Stickling, b. Limberg, from 1964-69 free graphics and painting at the University of Applied Sciences in Bielefeld with Professors Otto Kraft and Karl-Heinz Meyer. After completing her studies, she worked as a freelance artist and illustrator in Münster and then became the art director of a well-known Düsseldorf agency for visual communication. Since 1973, Elke Stickling has lived as a freelance artist in Bielefeld, Mallorca and Sylt. In the early 2000s, Elke Stickling also worked as a lecturer at the University of Witten-Herdecke.
Her works have been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad and also several times in the Samuelis Baumgarte Gallery, which the artist has represented since 1990.
Elke Stickling's pictures and drawings are not abstract or abstract, but are based on the technical perfection of fantastically unreal creations, sometimes with shocking, apocalyptic content, often with an orientation towards mannerism.
