A bayonet that appeared in most of the countries that were part of the Warsaw Pact from 1955-1991.
It was originally developed in the Soviet Union at the two factories Tulski Oruscheiny Zavod and Ischmech, the latter of which is best known for the Mosin-Nagant rifle and the Makarov pistol. The specimen in the auction is probably of the model 6Ch4 which was used for AK-47 and AKM, the bayonet was licensed in about ten countries including the GDR, Egypt, Poland and China.
It is equipped with barbed wire cutters and is single-ground.
Total length approx. 33 cm, blade length approx. 15 cm.
The bayonet is numbered on both sides and the scabbard is numbered in one place An indistinct star is engraved in the scabbard.
Used wear and Normal wear and tear, a little rubbed and a little surface rust.
