Andreas Schiller (b. 1963), chess pieces, glaze painting, egg tempera and oil on canvas, around 2000, signed and hardly legibly dated, also inscribed 'C. O. 16', approx. 55x55cm.

Andreas Schiller paints in the elaborate glaze technique of the Renaissance, which gives the serial and pop art presented motifs a character of pleasing still lifes. The artist belongs to the first generation of the new Leipzig school.

Condition

Partially with small flakings of color, in places light craquelée.
