Description

Otto Hamel (1866 Erfurt- 1950 Lohr). Studied at the Royal Art School with the history painter Eduard von Hagen and with Hans Semper in Erfurt, later in Berlin with Max Koch and Franz Skarbina and at the Julian Academy in Paris, where he came into contact with Impressionism. 1890 at the age of 24 appointment as professor for decorative painting at the School of Applied Arts in Hanover. 1922 active in Munich.
