Walter Bengtsson's art has been seen by many Swedes. Most people may just not know about it. his creations in metal for the public environment are many in number and can be seen in a wide range of places in the country.

Walter Bengtsson, born in 1927 in Snöstorp's parish, studied at Valand's art school 1954-58. This is followed by further studies at the Accademia di Brera in Milan. At the age of 40, he gets something of a breakthrough in connection with an exhibition at Liljevalchs. He often works in metal, initially preferably in aluminum then in copper. In 1976 he exhibited so-called head mounts under the title For eye, ear and hand. At the time, five years earlier he had been elected as a member of the Academy of Fine Arts.
