AVone (Anthony Vasquez) is one of the most prominent representatives of contemporary pop art in the USA today. He grew up in Brooklyn and joined the local street art scene at an early age. He co-founded the collective 'Destroy & Rebuild' and became one of the most popular street artists in the city. His practice unfolds from large-scale painting to screen printing or classical painting on canvas. Acrylic spray, oxidation, decollage or fragmentation of text and image are popular techniques. The artist is deeply inspired by his city and each work is a portrait of it. In 2007 he exhibited at MoMA and Art Miami, he is represented in various American private and public collections. Basketball player Michael Jordan recently commissioned him to design the latest 'Air' logo.
