The immortal collection of tales associated with the last Abbasid caliph of the illustrious Baghdad, Harun al Rashid and his court (years 786-809). The origin is found in the Persian collection HEZAR EFSANEH (the thousand stories) which in turn probably derives from old Indian editions.
