This is an original Moreau bronze from the 19th century. century.
This excellent model by Mathurin Moreau is a work that captures the essence of Art Nouveau. It shows a young girl with a bird in her hand. She almost seems to be in conversation with the bird in her hand, her face a picture of harmony with the present. The sculpture is of exceptionally fine quality, the casting work leaving only the slightest trace of carpentry and construction in this intricate model. The surface is perfectly finished, the skin immaculately smooth, the details of her eyelids, fingernails, the birds' feathers and the whorls of her narrow robe are chased and filed into photographic detail. The sculpture is kept in its original brown patina with hints of red undertones. It is an exquisite acquisition for the serious collector and connoisseur of Art Nouveau sculpture. Height: 76cm.
