(viii) 1-456pp; Volume II, M - Z (iv) 457 - 914pp. Dark brown leatherette boards gilt titling to spine and gilt medallion device on front board, blind stamped decorations, etc. etc. Lavish gilt endpapers impressed with compass and square design, all edges gilt. Each volume has a black and white photographic portrait frontispiece, followed by a second color plate frontispiece, tha in Vol I depicting the Three Graces and and that in Vol. II the Four Cardinal Virtues. Various full page plates throughout: several in color, and a number of black and white illustrations in text. An attractive, revised edition of the well-known Encyclopedia of Freemasonry by Masonic scholar and historian Albert G. Mackey (1807 - 1881).
