Born 1940 in Gujarat. In 1962, he acquired his Post Diploma in Painting from faculty of Fine Arts, M S University, Vadodara. He has received Senior Research Fellowship for 'Old Indian Monument' during 2005 – 07, National Award at Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi in 1970 & 1980 and Gold Medal in International Graphics Exhibition, Leipzing, Germany in 1965, amongst others. He won Govt. of India Cultural Fellowship in 1963-65. He has held one man shows in Bombay and Baroda and also participated in various international group shows in Leipzig, Saigon, Paris, Philippines, Poland and Berlin. He executed several murals for public and private sectors in India. and his works have featured at Concern India Foundation auction in March 2001 and Osian’s auctions in February 2001 and March 2007. He has received Gaurav Puraskar from Gujarat State Lalit Kala Academy in September 2008. UGC has produced a documentary film on his life and art in November 2008. His works are in the collections of many public galleries, museums, private sector corporations as well as individuals in India and abroad. He is currently working and residing in Baroda, Gujarat.
