In this themed auction we present a number of designers who in various ways have influenced the development and perception of what Nordic jewellery art is and represents.
The earliest examples are Georg Jensen and Arno Malinowski's now classic pansy and deer brooches, designed in the 1930s for Georg Jensen in typical Art Nouveau and Art Deco style.
We have several pieces of jewellery by Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe in collaboration with Georg Jensen. Her design was pioneering in its functional elegance and modernist simplicity, and went on to inspire many contemporary and subsequent artists across the Nordic countries.
We also present the Högberg brothers and the Johansson couple's unpretentious works, characterised by their distinctive technical solutions and intimate knowledge of materials.
Further examples from the auction include Henning Koppel and Tone Vigeland's sculptural pieces, Marianne Berg, Else & Paul Hues and Karl Laine's powerful necklaces, as well as jewellery by Björn Weckström, Regine Juhl and Teresia Hvorslevs rooted in Nordic nature.
