Markus Henttonen is a Finland born photographer, visual artist and film maker. He is known for his
timeless and beautiful images of people and landscapes. His style is honest and sensual with
cinematic storytelling and atmospheric, even poetic moods. Markus mostly shoots on location and
uses only natural light and exactly then for him the magic of photography is most present.
Markus ́works have been on show in more than 100 solo- and group exhibitions throughout Europe
for example in NRW Forum Düsseldorf, Museum Hilversum, Benaki Museum, Kommunale Galerie
Berlin, Lahti Art Museum, Copenhagen Photo Festival and Łódz Fotofestiwal. He has released three
monographs and the recent Twisted Tales- Road to Hope worldwide through Hatje Cantz. After years
in Berlin, Markus is now based in Sitges – Barcelona, where the soft natural light and variety of
Mediterranean locations work seamlessly for his style.
