What’s going on at Växjö Auktionskammare?
You can’t even approach the premises without stepping into a glittering trail of sequins, sparkle, and full-blown glamour. If you follow the star-studded path, you’ll eventually find yourself in Rottne. That’s where, in the summer of 1991, the pop and rock band The Ark was formed by a group of teenagers—likely with musical dreams far too grand for their hometown. The first rehearsal is said to have taken place in August that same year. A club gig in “Uffe’s basement” in Växjö three months later, and the project had officially set sail.
What followed was a decade of sweat, tears, struggle—and as much glam as could be squeezed into musty rehearsal rooms and worn-down bars. Then came the breakthrough. The Ark opened for Kent, and suddenly thousands of people were listening to Let Your Body Decide, Echo Chamber, and It Takes a Fool to Remain Sane. The rest is Swedish music history.
And now, you have a chance to claim a (not so small) piece of that legacy, as Växjö Auktionskammare presents Mikael Jepson’s personal collection.
This iconic stage performer needs little introduction. In addition to being the band’s guitarist, he is now also a visual artist and has even dabbled as a television host. But first and foremost, Jepson is a guitarist—and this themed auction features six of his personal guitars. Plus, a violin bass, an amp, and some tasty studio gear for those who know their way around a cable.
Each item comes with a personal description written by Jepson himself.
Warmly welcome!
