Crafoord Auctions Stockholm has mixed a well-balanced design cocktail and topped it with some extravagant pieces in Swedish grace and Swedish modern style. However, the main highlight of the auction - a table lamp by Paavo Tynell - is Finnish. It pairs excellently with, for example, Axel Larsson's high-backed Bodafors armchairs or Josef Frank's elegant pair of armchairs, manufactured by the Swedish company Svenskt Tenn. And if one does not choose the Aalto table as a complement, perhaps the choice might fall on the custom work with a stone top from the Malmö firm Jeppson & Lindvall Möbler and shop fittings. On the ceramics side, seven pieces by Berndt Friberg are featured, executed in a glaze containing nearly all shades of blue imaginable. For those seeking something beyond the ordinary, Carl Malmsten's floor clock might be just perfect. It is a majestic piece of craftsmanship executed by Hjalmar Jackson in a time when quality was a hallmark and fine woodworking a badge of honor. Also, don't miss the mirror by Lisa Larson, the magnificent silver candelabra from David Andersen, or Hans Hedberg's bowl in orange-red strong fire faience.
Warmly welcome!
