As Stockholms Auktionsverk reinvents the auction experience, it does so with a live auction where the firm’s specialists have carefully selected exciting, unexpected, and high-quality objects from all categories and eras. One of the highlights is a summer dream by Hugo Birger, painted in Villerville the year before his death. The sky is vast, brilliantly blue, and just perfect for an artist wishing to immortalize the reading ladies on the beach, with their red parasol adding a vital accent.
This auction presents an extraordinary array of objects, including a pair of cassolette urns in Rännås porphyry from Elfdals Porphyrverk—exceptional examples of Gustavian-era Stockholm craftsmanship. Other notable pieces include a late Gustavian writing desk, Johan Pettersson Berg’s elegantly curving Rococo silver jug, and the striking Corona ring from Bvlgari.
