Chalkwell Auctions is an antique auction house established in the Southend area for almost 30 years, and as a result of our re-location in 2010 has grown to be an important saleroom in the South of England.
All our auction sales are live on-line via the-saleroom.com and our own bidding platform with recent catalogues being viewed by an amazing 250.000 people, over 3,500 of whom were only viewing our sale. We have gained an excellent reputation for the quality of our service both from sellers and buyers.
A major part of our work is dealing with deceased estates. This involves giving accurate advice on both the Probate and Selling aspects of the contents of properties at a sensitive time. From clearance of small flats to large houses with contents comprising antiques, jewellery, fine art and the inevitable leftovers which need to be disposed of, we can help.
We offer a full house clearance service and do not just cherry pick the best items and leave families to deal with the rest. Often there are items among the contents of a property which can be grouped together to form suitable lots for auction sale instead of being discarded and in some cases this can make a significant difference to the value of the proceeds.
The end result of this is that the bulk of our work comes from recommendation from satisfied individuals and solicitors.
