Early Life and Education

Born 1946 in Stockholm, Sweden, Engman began studying art at Konstfack in Stockholm. He then moved to the United States to further his education at Pilchuck

Career and Achievements

He is often associated with his collaboration with the glassworks Kosta Boda. His artworks from his time at Kosta Boda frequently showcase lively colours, especially intense blues that interact with both light and reflection.

Engman has designed many notable installations and artworks, one of which is the cobalt blue bar at Kosta Boda Hotel that is made out of 3.5 tons of glass. His artistic talent encompasses more than just installations; he also undertakes prestigious commissions, such as creating trophy cups for renowned events like Let’s Dance and Eurovision Song Contest.
His work has gained international recognition for its creativity and technical mastery in glass artistry. Each and every creation made by Engman is marked with his artistic identity, “K.E” or with his full name “Kjell Engman”.
