Stockholms Auktionsverk has a long-standing tradition of offering high-quality collections of Sámi artwork. So, when Magasin 5 & Sickla now presents Sámi Art & Crafts, it continues this venerable tradition. In a theme of nearly 60 lots, a diverse range of items within the field are offered. Special care and attention are given to Martin Stenström's delicately hand-carved wooden sculptures. In his studio by Lake Jutsajaure, he created his carved interpretations of life in the Lapland expanses. These works have long been collector's items, and Stenström is today a respected name in the market. Alongside them are a variety of knives by, among others, Per-Eric Nilsson, Ingvar Svonni, and Tore Sunna. From Erik Norberg comes hornwork, and Lars Pirak is represented by two paintings. This is just a glimpse of what is encompassed under the heading of Sámi Art & Crafts.
