He lived a life that sometimes makes for a movie. An action-oriented Renaissance man who aided the resistance movement during World War II and managed a shipping company behind the director's desk during the post-war years. But above all, he cherished the written word. He founded Allhelms förlag and for half a century published weekly magazines, pamphlets, and books. He also became an honorary doctor and was awarded both the Commander of the Order of the North Star in Sweden and the Order of Dannebrog in Denmark.
Now, Crafoord Auctions Malmö presents a themed auction consisting of over 200 lots with provenance from Einar Hansen's Allhemsstiftelse donation to the Malmö Art Academy. The collection is extraordinary and the result of Einar Hansen's own experience and taste. Among the titles are Gustave Janet's fashion bible "La Mode Artistique," the richly informative architecture work "Les châteaux historiques de la France" in three volumes, the German classic "Amor und Psyche" with copperplate vignettes by Max Klinger in elaborately decorated cloth bindings, and of course much, much more.
Warmly welcome to calmly explore this somewhat astonishing collection.
