Important Information About VAT and Customs Fees
When items are transported to or from Great Britain or other countries outside the European Union VAT and customs fees will apply for shipments to and from EU countries. Different tax and customs rules apply compared to shipments within the EU and non-EU destinations.
How these charges are handled depends on the delivery method:
Parcel Delivery
For parcel deliveries between the UK or other non-EU countries and countries in the EU, VAT and customs duties will apply. These charges are typically invoiced by the carrier (e.g., FedEx).
Node Delivery / Into the home
For node deliveries and into the home deliveries between the EU and Great Britain or other non-EU countries an import fee is charged directly by Auctionet on your transport invoice. This fee includes but is not limited to:
- Administrative costs
- Documentation fees
- Handling charges
- Any applicable customs duties and VAT
It is important to note that you cannot rely on just the customs duty rate as the only cost. The import fee consists of multiple components, with the customs duty being only one part of the total cost.
