Bailey, R.N.' written in ink, to inside pocket, together with a similar jacket with Captains rank insignia to cuffs, Kings Crown Fleet Air Arm pilots brevet to left sleeve, same tailors label and name written in ink to inside pocket.
The jackets belonged to Captain Oswald Nigel Bailey R.N., born 19th June 1913, appears on Navy List of January 1933 as a Midshipman from 1st May, Sub Lieutenant 16th May 1936, Lieutenant 16th September 1936, Acting Commander 16th September 1944, Captain, General List 1958, awarded O.B.E. (Military Division), London Gazette Tues. 23rd February 1954, 'Commander (Now Captain) Oswald Nigel Bailey, HMS Ocean', served as High Sheriff of Wiltshire 1972, passed away 27th July 1991 aged 78, buried at St Michaels Churchyard, Wilford, Salisbury. Good overall condition, some light wear commensurate with age.

Welcome to Bishop & Miller's Militaria & Medals auction.
The leading highlight is a rare Second World War Military Cross grouping to a member of the Special Operations Executive/Force 136.
The medal section includes centuries of conflict, from a Waterloo Medal to a Private in the 3rd Foot Guards a French 1st Empire Legion d'Honneur, a Crimean War group and a South Africa Medal 1877-79 to a Private from the Isandlwana camp. World War II groupings also include Arnhem Casualty Groups.
Beyond medals, collectors will find a fine selection of edged weapons and militaria, such as a signed WW2 Japanese Shin Gunto (Officer's Sword), a George V Highland Officers Broadsword, a Pattern 1853 Cavalry Troopers Sword, and an 18th/19th century Ottoman Yataghan.
