Emy and Gunnar Lundberg and Ragnhild Lundberg

Around 1910, Emy Lundberg traveled to Vienna to study gymnastics at the Swedish Gymnastics School. During her stay there, she came into contact with Anna and Josef Frank — Anna was active as a pianist at the school, while Josef was responsible for its interior design. Through these contacts, Emy gained access to the artistic circles in Vienna. However, she returned to Sweden around the year 1912 to marry Gunnar Lundberg, thereby becoming sister-in-law to Ragnhild Lundberg.

Already in the 1920s Estrid Ericson got to know Josef Frank's furniture art in Stockholm, after visiting the Lundberg couple in Djursholm. On this occasion she saw a dining group that Emy Lundberg had commissioned from Josef Frank back in 1921. At the same time Ragnhild Lundberg and Estrid Ericson had developed a close friendship.

Ragnhild Lundberg worked as a reception manager at the Grand Hôtel in Stockholm, where she actively referred many important clients to Firma Svenskt Tenn. When she later became owner and director of Hotell Plaza, she continued to support Svenskt Tenn in the same way. Ragnhild and Estrid also took several trips together, which further deepened their personal and professional relationship.
