the octagonal-shaped sapphire is set within a surround of cushion-shaped diamonds, within an outer surround of natural pearls and cushion-shaped diamonds, suspending a diamond and natural pearl drop, 7cm long, with separate hinged bangle fitting and brooch fitting, in fitted blue velvet case by R. & S. Garrard & Co, Haymarket, London
Accompanied by report number 5784-1336 from GCS, London, dated 14th February 2024 stating that the natural sapphire weighs approximately 5.50 carats, with no indications of heating. Origin: Sri Lanka (Ceylon)
With a pearl Appendix stating that the round pearls measure approximately 4.9-5.2mm, the drop pearl measures approximately 8.8 x 8.8 x 11.4mm and that they are natural saltwater pearls, with no indications of treatment.
Provenance: The Property of the late Dowager Lady St. Oswald, wife to the 5th Baron St. Oswald of Nostell Priory, Nr. Wakefield, Yorkshire.
