Through his distinctive style and his tireless artistic explorations, Finnish artist Lars Gunnar Nordström left an indelible imprint on the art world. Lars Gunnar, also called “Nubben”, was an explorer in the world of art, constantly searching for new ways of expression and meanings. Through his many artistic explorations, he created an extensive collection of works spanning a wide range of themes, styles and techniques.

Nordström's art is rich in abstract forms and symbolic elements that carry deep emotional and philosophical messages. In his works, the existential questions of man, the beauty of nature and the power of the subconscious are often explored. Using abstraction and symbolism, he created paintings and sculptures that appeal not only to the viewer's minds but also to their souls, leaving room for interpretation and reflection. When Nordström himself analyzed his art, he often emphasized three basic elements; color, form and line. It is also these three elements that meet the viewer at first sight in the works of the auction, where white, red and black lots play over the meticulously flat image surface. But if you look deeper into the painting, you discover how the different parts of color play with each other, how the straight and curved line creates a harmonious interaction, a kind of orderly chaos. Nordström's love for jazz music is widely known, and jazz, where seemingly disparate notes and sounds create a rhythmic harmony, is again present in this work.

One hundred years after Nordström's birth, his art continues to inspire and touch viewers all over the world. In the works, his passion, creativity and eternal search for beauty and meaning in the world around us live on.
