Juste Présent is a collection of Tristan Tzara's poems written between 1947 and 1950 with illustrations by his long-term collaborator and friend Sonia Delaunay. Published in 1961, a period where Delaunay returned to painting and printmaking with styles and techniques akin to the early years of her career. The bright, abstract forms which she had pioneered at the beginning of the century now appeared in a whole new dimension and for a new audience). However, this was not simply regurgitating her previous art, as she said herself, 'abstract art is only important if it is the endless rhythm where the very ancient and the distant future meet'.
Condition
Hand-coloured etching with time staining. Colors very fresh. Framed.
The text pages and etchings in the slip-case with some minor scattered specks of foxing.
The Card-boards and slipcase with wear, surface soiling, creases and some defects.
