Description

With an 82cm straight pointed blade with sharpened edge. The blade with elaborate etched decoration, Engineers thunderbolts and 'Royal Engineers' with VR monogram and previous owners initials THS. Marked for E.Thurkle Maker Soho London. With a broad guard with decorative pierced scrolling acanthus decoration, the wire wound shagreen grip with partially cross hatched strap and domed pommel. In a leather service type scabbard. 98cm overall.

Condition

Scabbard probably associated and with heavily scuffed surface. Blade with some light surface rust. Otherwise wear commensurate with age.
