KNUT WICKSELL - HIS DISSERTATION. Zur Lehre von der Steuerincidenz. Academic Dissertation... Upsala... Wednesday 29 May 1895... (Dissertation). Jena, Ant. Struggle. 1895.

Knut Wicksell (1851-1926), Swedish economist, the foremost in his generation and internationally renowned for his pioneering work in monetary theory. In Geldzins und Güterpreise (1898, Interest and Prices, 1936) he proposed an explanation of price-level movements by an aggregate demand–supply analysis focused on the relationship between prospective profit and interest rates. This made Wicksell a forerunner of modern monetary theory and anticipated the work of John Maynard Keynes in A Treatise on Money (1930).
This dissertation is the first part of his "Finanztheoretische Untersuchungen nebst Darstellung und Kritik des Steuerwesens Schwedens".
Provenance: Rolf G. H. Henriksson (1937-2020), PhD., Swedish economist.
