175. PARTAGÁS. Humidor, Cabinet No. 4: 155th Anniversary of the Partagás Brand, signed by Fidel Castro.

PROVENANCE This humidor was sold at a charity auction in 2000 when the famous cigar brand Partagás turned 155 years old. In connection with this, it was also signed by Fidel Castro. The humidor, containing 155 cigars of the salamones model, was bought by a lady, who then sold it on to an Italian private individual who was also a board member of Swedish Match. It was then donated to one of Sweden's foremost cigar experts, who sold it on to the current owner.

INSCRIPTION ON THE ACCOMPANYING CERTIFICATE The humidor made of cedar, with silver decorations was specially designed for this important event. It contains 155 cigars; 155 Diademas, the sizes chose to mark this anniversary. The work of self-taught gold and silversmith Raúl Valladares Valdés, of Havana. In spite of his youth, his work has been shown in more than 60 exhibitions in Cuba and abroad. He has won many national and international awards, including the Picasso Medal, given by the World Council of UNESCO, and the Gold Medal for Humidors at the International Fair of Havana.

His work has been purchased by VIPs in all parts of the world. He made a name for himself in the world of Habanos by designing the Habano Man of the Year trophies. Valladares created the Tfinidad humidor, which was auctoined during the dinner held on the anniversary of that brand, and the Cohiba humidor, which was auctioned in the course of the Dinner of the Millennium, during the 1st International Habano Festival.
