The ring is made of 835 silver and hallmarked accordingly. It is believed to be a design by Louis Vausch, Berlin, Germany.
The ring head is set with a rectangular natural amber segment with a finely polished surface, which is held by a smooth bezel. The amber is surrounded by a stepped mirror setting with arches at the transition to the ring shoulders.
The fact that it is natural amber can also be seen on the underside of the ring, which shows a segment with unpolished amber bark.
RG 58 = inner diameter of the ring rail 18.4 mm, ring head 20.6 x 14.1 mm, amber 17.2 x 8.3 mm, weight 5.7 grams.
