Oskar Popp (*04.12.1875 Leipzig - ?, active in Hildesheim); Oil on canvas, dating around 1930/40, signed lower right with the addition Professor, younger framed. dimensions approx. Frame 92 x 72 cm, painting 80 x 60 cm. The motif shows a summer landscape with a view of an idyllic village in the style of fresh, strong brushstrokes, it may be the Leine-Deister area. A mountain rises behind the village. Oskar Popp studied at the Dresden Academy and founded the artists' association "Mappe", where he created with the artists Edmund Körner, Franz Kunz, Karl Quarck, Karl Theodor Eichler and Otto Petrenz. OP created, among other things, works for the König-Albert-Bad in Plauen.
