History The Ford Fairlane 500 Galaxie was introduced in 1959 as the brand's new top model and quickly became a symbol of the American automotive industry's optimism. The pillarless two-door hardtop body, the characteristic tail fins, and the generous chrome have made the model one of the most iconic American cars of the 1950s.

Condition
The car runs very well in both engine and automatic transmission. Responsive.
Engine rebuilt in 2013.
New Holley L1551 carburetor in 2015.
Lack of choke means one must pump the gas slightly during cold starts.
Original temperature gauge does not work, a modern one is mounted under the dashboard.
During Sajab's visit, the fuel gauge suddenly stopped working, which it has always done previously.
The seller believes the rear axle has been replaced with a Ford 9-inch with a gear ratio that causes the speedometer to show slightly incorrectly.
The windshield has a small stone chip (circled in photo).
Minor cracks in some of the side windows, see photos.
A minor scratch in the paint on the right front fender.
Nice chrome on bumpers.
Very nice interior as well.
The overflow pipe next to the radiator cap has come loose.
The garage floor under the car suggests there may be some oil leakage.
Overall a very nice car, ready to be used.
The car is registered as a Custom 500, but has the appearance of a Fairlane 500 Galaxie. Possibly the car was rebuilt when it was first prepared around 1980. The original engine was a 6-cylinder.
