Provenance: Richard Grönstedt, deceased as Lena Grönstedt (1940–2025)

Richard Grönstedt was a prominent entrepreneur and one of the driving forces behind the founding of Nya Ångfartygs AB Strömma Kanal. The company was established in 1968, and he led the operations until the early 1980s. During these years, he shaped the company's profile, characterized by a strong commitment to steamships and a conviction regarding the cultural-historical value of older vessels.

One of the ships that came to be associated with the operations is S/S Drottningholm, originally built as the steam launch Valkyrian, which after restoration was put into service between Stadshuskajen and Drottningholm Palace. Through the company, several classic vessels were also saved and preserved, including S/S Sjöfröken, S/S Saltsjön, and the later M/S Prins Carl Philip. During the 1970s, he also founded and operated Strömma Line with traffic between Sweden and Finland.

The estate now presented at auction testifies to a long-standing commitment to Swedish maritime history and archipelago culture. The items reflect Grönstedt's great interest in steamships, maritime history, and the preservation of a cultural heritage that still lives on in Swedish waters today.
