The bayonet was produced for the Argentine version of the Mauser rifle m/1891 in 7.65 x 53 caliber.
The bayonet is stamped with both the manufacturer's name and the text "Modelo Argentino 1891", partially ground off, as well as the number N 5487 and various smith and inspection stamps on the crossguard, blade spine, and hilt.
The scabbard is stamped with "N 0912" and various inspection stamps.
