History

MG has a long and successful racing history, with participation in, among others, the classic 24-hour race at Le Mans during the 1950s (EX182). The experience from endurance racing and the development of the brand's racing prototypes came to influence both design and construction.

This example has been built in a Le Mans-inspired configuration, which reflects the racing cars of that time.

According to documentation, the car underwent an extensive technical overhaul during the 1990s, where the engine was rebuilt and upgraded. The original engine has been replaced by a larger engine of approx. 2.0 litres, equipped with, among other things, a machined cylinder head, sharper camshaft, lightened flywheel, and Weber carburettors.

Furthermore, the car has been fitted with a 5-speed manual gearbox of Ford type. Only a handwritten document in German exists describing the conversion.

The vehicle was imported to Sweden and registered in 2006 by a man in the Nässjö area. In connection with this, there is documentation from a German TÜV inspection. After addressing remarks, no remaining faults were noted at the follow-up inspection.

Later service measures are documented via invoices, including work on steering joints, wheel bearings, and service of the gearbox and rear axle.
The current owner acquired the car last year but has now decided to sell several of his vehicles.
