History Ford Model 40 was introduced in 1933 as a further development of the groundbreaking V8 model from 1932, and marked an important step in the development of the automotive industry by making an 8-cylinder engine available to a wider market.
This example was imported to Sweden in 1987 by Blennermarks Bil in Vänersborg and was acquired in 1989 by the now-deceased owner, in whose possession the car has been for nearly 40 years since. During the years 1989–1992, the owner carried out an extensive restoration of the car.
The restoration is verified by a very large number of receipts and documents that are included, of which only a small part is documented in the image material here. The owner, who worked at Volvo Aero for most of his professional life, is described as meticulous and orderly – something that is reflected in the car's documentation and history.
Extensive documentation is included, including receipts, historical documents, and publications within automotive historical literature, which further strengthens the car's background and collector value.
