Bronze vase, China, probably late 19th century or early 20th century (Qing dynasty or republic period). Baluster shape with a slim neck and a wide flared lip The neck is flanked by two relieved handles in the form of stylized dragons (Chilong). The body is surrounded by finely fluted and engraved decoration of peonies and floral tendrils on a dark patina. Base worked as a detached ring base.
Good age-appropriate condition with nice patina. Superficial signs of use, minimal scratches and production-related casting defects on the inside and on the floor. No visible cracks or major dents (See illustrations). The base plate is missing at the bottom.
