Approx. 345 x 259 cm.
Kenneth Henry Cope moved to Sweden, from Australia, during the 1950s - and was hired as a ballet dancer with Malmö Stadsteater, during the period when Kruse, and Ingemar Bergman held managerial positions there. Next to the profession of dancer, there was an interest in textiles and ceramics. During the 1960s a building was bought, on a farm in Höör - not far from the locality Matteröd, in Skåne. There begins the weaving of yarrow carpets, which in the end becomes a voluminous work. Orders were carried out, and there were times, when the client, together with Kenneth, went out into nature, to seek out the color shades of the autumn leaves - which were then brought back to the workshop, to form the color scale of an individual carpet. After switching careers to textiles, a contact arose with SIDA, which would create jobs for women in Vlasti in northern Greece. Kenneth moved there on site to teach weaving techniques, he even had a house built, on the island of Paros in the Aegean Sea. Many people were then able to generate income for themselves, from textiles woven in Greece.
