Percussion carbine Maynard 1863 second model for the U.S. Army. Produced in 20202 copies 1863-65. Marked MANUFACTURED BY MASS. ARMS CO CHICOPEE FALLS. With military inspection stamps and double cartouches on piston neck.

Walnut flask, iron fittings. Bruised, grooved barrel in .50 caliber. Length 93 cm.

A number of brass sleeves are included.

Courage comment: An exceptionally fine specimen with close to all original finishes retained.

Condition

Largely preserved bluing on the barrel, mechanically in new condition, slightly dull, sharp and clear grooving. Minor wear and tear.
