Folke Arström (1907-1997) is considered one of Sweden's foremost cutlery designers and was the artistic director of Gense from 1940 and 20 years later. He made stainless steel accepted as a material for everyday cutlery and is behind several design and sales successes that have been internationally recognized. Among these are, in addition to Thebe, Focus which was shown for the first time at the Helsingborg exhibition in 1955 and the sequel Focus de Luxe which was launched the following year.
