Description
With a floral engraved dial and Black Roman numerals, enclosing an 8-day twin fusee movement, striking on the hour on a domed bell above, in a brass case with an arched top surmounted by a finial housing the bell, supported by 4 columns, the frieze pierced with lion and unicorn flanking a vacant shield shaped cartouche surmounted by a crown, the doors on each side engraved with an engraved Tudor rose and fleur-de-lis, on pointed ball feet, H.37cm approx., with a winding key. Condition
Runs but stops after a short while, would benefit from a clean/oil. Striking mechanism operates, but striker does not retract sufficiently from the bell to give a clear ring. Few knocks/dents to edge of bell. Left door stiff. Tarnishing and general marks to case commensurate with age.
