Olle Hanspers (Falun, 1923-2012)
Eminent Swedish graphic artist and artist, whose work was characterized by technical skill and a strong sense of the poetic in the everyday. Educated at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm, he early developed a fondness for the classical copper graphics, especially etching and dry needling.
With a peculiar sense of light, surface and composition, he created works that often moved in the borderland between the abstract and the figurative.
His subjects often move in a low-key landscape, where architecture, fragments of nature and silences interplay. The compositions balance the precise with the dreamy, often with an almost meditative mood.
Hansper's works are represented in, among others, the Moderna Museet, the National Museum and several regional museums, and he has exhibited extensively both in Sweden and abroad.
Olle Hanspers is regarded as one of Sweden's foremost graphic artists in the second half of the 20th century with his care for the craft.
Leaves with slight yellowing, not examined out of frame.
