Second third of the 20th century, carved with three lizards holding up a dish atop the head of the mask, Elongated snout with open mouth and pointed teeth, projecting brows over recessed eye apertures, and pierced ears, 75cm high 23cm wide

Note – Zoomorphic masks of this kind, often blending human and animal traits, were used by the Kran people in masquerades related to social control, protection, and initiation. The powerful crest motif may symbolize ancestral strength or the binding of spiritual forces.
