Second third of the 20th century, having an Elongated domed head with ridged coiffure and projecting ears, the facial plane defined by a pronounced vertical nose and incised eyes. The figure stands upright, arms bent at the elbows, with angular limbs and block-like feet rest on an integral base, 74cm high 19cm wide
Provenance - Private UK Collection,
Note - Figures of this type were traditionally housed in men's spirit houses (haus tambaran) and served ritual or ancestral functions within Middle Sepik communities.

general marks and wear, crack/split to side of the head.
