Alexander Wolfgang (1894-1970), landscape with forest path, oil on canvas, signed, ca. 70 x 90 cm, with frame approx. 88 x 108 cm

Alexander Wolfgang's painting is influenced by the French Impressionists and the Barbizon School. At the end of the 1930s, he met his future wife, the sister of Otto Dix, and turned entirely to freelance painting. He found the motifs for his landscape painting in the vicinity of his home town of Gera.

Condition

Occasionally minimal chipping, fine craquelure in places, backed with a small patch at the bottom edge.
