Description

Black metal frame white lacquered wood.

Chair height 89 cm, seat height 47 cm, width 42 cm, depth 44 cm.

Rutger Andersson was IKEA's most influential designer in the 1980s. He was responsible for a wide range of models, a number of which were fairly progressive. The chair and table “Karelen” received a lot of attention in both the Swedish and international press at the launch, but despite this, “Karelen” was not included in the Swedish IKEA catalogs.
In its expression, “Karelia” is very telling of the prevailing furniture fashion of the mid-1980s.
